How to fill it out
- Give every key a number or tag, and never write the address on it.
- Sign keys out and back in — no exceptions for staff or vendors.
- Count keys at every shift change.
- Report a missing key right away so locks can be changed.
Why key control matters
A lost master key can mean re-keying a whole building. A key log shows exactly who had each key and when, so you know right away which locks are at risk — and it discourages keys from “walking off” in the first place.
